Will I Get to Keep the Leftover Paint?

Yes! Any paint that has been tinted to your specific project’s colors we will label and leave with you. It is recommended to store in your basement or a room in the home that does not fluctuate in temperature above 80 or below 60 degrees. If storing in a garage, make sure the paint does not freeze. Leftover paint that is properly sealed can last up to 2 years.

How Long Will the Project Take?

Cabinet projects can take anywhere from 3-5 days, whole home exterior painting 4-10 days (or longer if there is rain forecasted), interior painting approx. 1 day per room.

Make sure to ask your Project Manager for an estimated timeline for your specific project if you would like to have a more specific estimate of completion.

Will the Floors Be Protected?

Yes! Prep is an important step in our painting process. Our teams begin the first day by covering floors, taping edges, and making repairs.

What Paint Brand Do You Use?

We use Sherwin Williams paint products for all our jobs. We love the smooth, consistent results their products produce. For interior, we recommend SuperPaint as a good value option, or Emerald as a high end option. For exteriors, SuperPaint as our value option, Duration (+$18/gallon) for a longer lasting finish, or Emerald (+$25/gallon) for a high end finish. Trimwork we recommend ProClassic for a value option, or Emerald Urethane (+$15/gallon) for a high end option. For cabinets, we only recommend Emerald Urethane because it is the best for smoothness, color, and durability!

If you have a paint color that you love in a different paint brand, let us know and we can have it color matched! If you’ve already purchased the paint for your project, we will discount the cost of the paint.

Can I Leave While the Painters Are Working?

Yes! Many of our clients will have work, be out of town, or have errands to run while work is being done. We will work around your preferences and are more than happy to let ourselves in and out of the job with a key or a code when needed. We will reach out if there is anything we need from you while on the job.

How Often Do I Need To Paint My Exterior?

The durability will depend on the type of siding you have, as well as how much sun, rain, and cold exposure your home gets, but here are some general averages:

Wood siding: about 3-7 years

Aluminum and Vinyl Siding: about 5 years

Stucco: about 5-6 years

Brick: about 15 years

Stained Siding and Decks: about 2-4 years

How Often Do I Need To Paint My Interior?

This will depend on certain factors like how much sun comes into the room, if children or pets are in the home, and the quality of paint that was used. It’s recommended to repaint your interior every 5-10 years, but certain rooms, such as bathrooms or children’s bedrooms, may need to be painted every 2-3 years.

What If I Want To Make A Change Or Add Something To The Job While Work Has Already Started?

Let your Sales Representative know as soon as possible, so that they can get you updated pricing and communicate it to the Project Manager. It will almost always save you money to make changes while we are already on the job, rather than having us come back at a later time.
